Cambridge Senior Citizens News - Week of December 19

The Cambridge Senior Citizens wish everyone a wonderful and blessed Christmas Season.  For some, this can be a lonely time of the year.  Our Christmas wish is that we all remember to include the seniors in our lives in our holiday festivities.  Cambridge Seniors Citizens are celebrating Christmas together on Friday, December 20 at the Senior Center with donated appetizers and desserts and a $10 grab bag.  Most of all, we are sharing the blessings of friendship and companionship together.  Recently, members joined with Cambridge Hotel residents for a Christmas sing-a-long with a beautiful piano accompaniment. The recent rainstorm didn't deter us from a delicious December dinner together at Kevin's in North Hoosick.

Our 2025 Membership Drive is in full swing.  We encourage local seniors to join us at our 5 Park Place Senior Center any weekday between 10 & 2.  You can participate in activities, events and trips throughout the year.  It's a great place to spend time in the company of other seniors.  Bring your ideas & suggestions for activities you enjoy.  Share a talent with us.  Volunteer in the thrift shop.  Annual Membership is still only $12 per year.  That's only $1 per month.  A Senior Club membership also makes a great gift for your favorite senior.  Call 518-677-8592 for membership information.

The Senior Center Thrift Shop is also open 10-2 weekdays and the first and third Saturdays of every month.  Shop for clothing gifts, decor and needed items all year long.  Shop on Wednesdays to enjoy our $5 Clothing Bag Sale.

We encourage local County Seniors to come to the Senior Center to enjoy special meals provided by the Washington County Senior Nutrition Program.  You'll enjoy the company of other seniors as much as you enjoy the tasty and nutritious meals especially designed to satisfy senior nutritional requirements.  If you're able, a $3 donation is suggested and you MUST call us no later than 1 p.m. the day before to order your eat-in or take-out meal. Important note, the Senior Center, Thrift Shop & Meal Program will all be closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.  Please plan accordingly.

Once again, we wish all of Cambridge & surrounds a Merry Christmas & Happy, Healthy New Year!  Gather with loved ones, friends and neighbors to enjoy the Blessing of the Season.  We look forward to a 2025 filled with friendship, love and good will.  Merry Christmas to all from the Cambridge Seniors.
